Fourth of July in SWFL

Southwest Florida offers plenty of Independence Day activities. Check out one of these festive activities to celebrate the 4th with your family and friends:

Downtown Fort Myers 4th of July Celebration. Enjoy a tribute to SWFL Veterans, the Venice Symphony Jazz Band Orchestra performing patriotic favorites, and a fireworks display at the Caloosa Sound Amphitheater in Downtown Fort Myers. The. Festivities begin at 6 pm, and general admission is free, but bring a folding lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Hammond Stadium. Celebrate the 4th of July at the ballpark while watching the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels take on the Bradenton Marauders at Hammond Stadium. City of Cape Coral Red White & Boom.  The City of Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department presents this annual event at the foot of the Cape Coral Bridge.  Festivities run from 5 pm to 10 pm and include live music, food, and a musically synchronized fireworks display. Farmer Joe’s Cape Coral. From 11 am to 2 pm, Farmer Joe’s is hosting its 2nd Annual 4th of July Customer Appreciation Event. There will be free food, including Nathan’s hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, and cotton candy. Bonita Springs. The Bonita Springs Fire Department starts the day with a 4th of July Parade at 9:00 am. The parade runs on Old 41 between Kentucky St. and Rosemary Dr. Viewing for the parade is best around the Riverside Park area. Later that evening, from 6-9 pm, the City of Bonita Springs celebrates its “Star Spangled Bonita” at Riverside Park. The event features live music, food and drinks for purchase, along with a laser light and fireworks display. Admission is free. Sanibel & Captiva Islands.  Check out the 31st Annual Independence Day Parade at 9:30 am on Sanibel.  The parade begins at Tarpon Bay Road and Periwinkle Way.
