Yucatan Waterfront Bar & Grill; Matlacha, Florida

If you're looking for a local restaurant with island-style cuisine, live music, and a great view, you should definitely head over to Yucatán Waterfront in Matlacha. Hurricane Ian nearly destroyed the Yucatán, but the restaurant has since been rebuilt and re-opened earlier this year in May.

Patrons rave about the island-style atmosphere at Yucatán. The outdoor area features a bar with swinging chairs, waterside dining, cornhole games, live music, and adirondack chairs overlooking the water.  The outdoor area also has a new tiki roof with numerous fans, so you'll still feel comfortable enjoying that million-dollar view during your meal.

On the menu, visitors love the oversized Grouper Sandwich, the Trio Platter featuring grouper, mahi and salmon, the Shrimp or Crab Leg boil, and the Scampi Escargot. The Carribean Jerk Quesadillas are also a favorite for non-seafood fans. And if you have a dog, this pet-friendly restaurant has a special "Good Dog" menu featuring beef and chicken bowls served in a frisbee and other items like cheeseburgers and dog ice cream.

Yucatan is a great, local waterfront dining experience that will make you feel like you're on vacation for the afternoon or evening. Add this spot to your list of restaurants to try here in SWFL.
